Goodest Boi Update - Done!

Well that's Goodest Boi, done and dusted!

There's always more we could add, but the 80/20 Rule rules, and our tutor sets a cracking pace. We have more games to make, and so we move on, leaving Goodest Boi for our fans.

Please share far and wide with anyone who might benefit from its gentle story and relaxing vibes.

  1. The game now performs much better, thanks to a clever bit of code by my friend Sean Michael that let me set manual swaps via pairs of invisible 'doors' (thanks to Jane Ng's talk The making of Firewatch  2016). The game runs sweetly on low graphics on my old Mac potato.
  2. Players weren't exploring one branch, and more importantly, were not getting to the end of the story! With the team's blessing, and assets from classmate Thomas Pearson, I added visual cues to lead the eye... I don't want to give too much away, so 'nuff said.
  3. And for Easter, an Easter egg - in the scene is a photo of our amazing tutor, Jacob Grossman  - we owe him so much, and the game would not be here without him.
  4. Other stuff of interest to devs rather than players you can read about in our blogs, but in brief, Async load scene means no long lag between scenes; and particles, menus and cursor work as they are supposed to  (Time.timescale = 0.0f,  I am glaring at you!)
  5. Just for fun, I made a Linux build, so let me know in the comments if that works or not.

Once again fans, thanks for a wild ride, we were stunned at how many downloads we got for a game with no marketing budget. Keep watching our pages for the next games, which we are supposed to produce in another 4 weeks!
