Goodest Boi Update - Better Performance
Goodest Boi » Devlog
I can't thank you fans enough for over a hundred downloads in less than a week. I hope you are finding it relaxing and happy-making.
Three updates in this latest version 2.3:
- I moved the dog's final location so it now aligns with the exit from the fores, which had been confusing.
- Oops! Build 2.2 I accidentally turned off all the invisible walls, so people fell off into the endless abyss! Not the game feel we were looking for. Safety first peeps! The walls are back in again.
- Good news, some performance improvements:
- The initial area is a lot easier to play because the water and terrain past the water is not rendered until you get there
- I reduced detail distance on the terrain
- All buttons and panels are on two spritesheets instead of thirty individual sprites
- I removed multiple Debug.Log statements
So now not it is not a pretty potato, its nicer looking to move through.
There are more optimisation possibilities to investigate; in the meantime
Enjoy!
